The successor to PET. A thermoplastic polyester aiming to provide the printability ease of PLA and the durability and temperature resistance of ABS while offering minimized warping and odor during printing. The ‘G’ in PETG stands for glycol, and its addition allows for increased strength durability and impact resistance. Many PETG filaments are FDA approved. It can be printed in highly transparent formulations. Printed parts are water proof and chemical resistance.

When to use PETG?

· Food and drink containers

· Pharmaceutical applications (withstands harsh sterilization processes

· Stands and displays (colorable)

· Machine guards (transparent filament availability)

· Larger prints (low shrink rate)

· Prototyping with good durability and mild flexibility
